Responsibilities As a school social worker, your main responsibilities will include: - Strengthen the school's health-promoting and preventive student wellness work with focus on the psychosocial environment. - Provide teachers with guidance and support in social matters not directly related to teaching. - Serve as coordinator within the local student wellness team, identifying needs at individual and group levels and referring to appropriate professionals. - Monitor the external environment and organize professional development for teachers and other school staff. - Coordinate contacts between the school, social services, preventive units, police, and the regional health authority. - Collaborate with and provide counseling to students and guardians. - Work closely with school leadership. Your Profile You have a social worker degree, at minimum a bachelor's degree. You have worked as a social worker in social services, schools, or the regional health authority for at least 4 years. You are skilled at analyzing situations and causes of problems, identifying needs, and systematically working with preventive and corrective measures at individual and group levels both independently in your professional role and in collaboration with others. You have experience working within the Education Act, school regulations, discrimination legislation, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Your work areas range from a comprehensive whole-school perspective to individually targeted interventions. You have strong knowledge in behavioral and social sciences, law, developmental psychology, social change work, and psychosocial work. You also have knowledge in conversation methods, systems theory, the Swedish welfare system, municipal activities, and child and youth development. About the Department We teach children to read, count, and discover the world around them. We follow our youngest residents from preschool until they graduate from upper secondary school. Through our adult education programs, people can learn Swedish as a second language, take individual courses, or pursue longer education.
