Job Responsibilities The position of school social worker is a central part of the municipality's school social work. Today, the school social team consists of two school social workers, and we are now looking for a third colleague to strengthen the team and meet the need for support for students and their families. This initiative is part of our ambition to provide more children and young people with the right support at the right time and to continue developing close collaboration between school and social services. As part of a growing team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues, develop working methods together, and contribute to the continued development of the municipality's school social work. We believe in the strength of a team-based approach where you share knowledge, support each other in complex cases, and jointly develop methods that make a real difference for children and young people. As a school social worker, you work at the individual, group, and organizational level with a focus on removing social barriers to learning and school attendance. You have a special mandate to strengthen collaboration between school, social services, and guardians, and function as an important link between the school's educational mission and social services' support measures. The work is conducted in close collaboration with schools' student health teams and in dialogue with teachers, school management, and other professionals. At the same time, you are organizationally placed within social support, the preventive and open care unit within the social administration, which gives you access to collegial support, supervision, and a strong professional context. You are a natural part of the school environment and work relationship-building with students and their families. You follow students over time, adapt interventions based on individual needs, and contribute to creating sustainable solutions that strengthen students' ability to succeed in school. The role is under development, which means you will have the opportunity to help shape the future of school social work. Together with your colleagues, you develop working methods, approaches, and collaboration models to provide children and young people with the right support at the right time. About the Workplace The social administration's primary mission is to offer individualized support and services within elderly care, disability services, children and families, adults, and financial assistance. We are present for residents throughout all stages of life. You will be part of an engaged school social team working in close collaboration with schools, student health services, and social services. The team currently consists of two school social workers and is now being expanded with one additional position. Together, you will work to strengthen school attendance, promote student health, and create good conditions for children and young people to succeed in school. We work in teams and see collegial collaboration as an integral part of the mission. By having several school social workers, there are excellent opportunities for experience sharing, joint methodology development, and support in daily work. What We're Looking for in You To succeed in the role, you have: - A degree in social work - Experience working in social services with children and young people - Experience in motivation and treatment work - Very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written - A class B driver's license It is an advantage if you have: - Experience working with school social issues - Knowledge of neurodevelopmental variations Personal Qualities We're Seeking We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
