Description Påvelundsskolan is a primary school with approximately 1,100 students, from preschool through grade 9, plus an adapted primary school for grades 1-6. Key success factors for Påvelundsskolan are strong collaboration between home and school, high expectations, engaged and competent staff, and motivated students. Our work teams at the schools consist of staff from all professions in student health services: psychologist, counselor, school nurse, special educator, and school physician. Påvelundsskolan has three school nurses. Two with primary responsibility for grades 7-9 and one with primary responsibility for preschool-grade 6 and adapted primary school. We are now seeking a school nurse at 100% for grades 7-9. Job Responsibilities As a school nurse, you work closely with student health personnel, school staff, and management to create the best possible conditions for students' health, development, and learning based on your nursing expertise. As a school nurse, you also collaborate with guardians and authorities outside the school. By connecting health and learning, you contribute as a school nurse to student well-being and their ability to achieve educational goals. You participate in school student health meetings and provide medical expertise in various matters where you collaborate with educators, principals, and others working at the school on health promotion and prevention initiatives. You analyze how a student's medical history and current situation affect the need for support and interventions at individual, group, and organizational levels. You work in a preventive and health-promoting manner based on the guidelines found in the health and medical care act, school act, student health guidance, and Gothenburg City's methodology support for student health medical services. This includes health visits, health conversations, vaccinations, matters related to student work environment, the school's values, and lifestyle-related illness. You also conduct group activities as needed and maintain your own open clinic and clinic hours together with the school physician. You participate in a professional network with other school nurses in the education area with regular meetings for quality development and work support, led by the medical director of responsibility, MLA. School nurses in the network are also offered supervision and profession-specific professional development. Qualifications We are looking for a licensed registered nurse with specialist education in health and medical care for children and youth, district nurse education, or with further education in school nursing. If you have previously worked as a school nurse or have experience with health promotion work with children and youth, this is a merit but not required. If you have experience working with PMO or an equivalent computer system, that is also a merit. To succeed in your role, it is important that you have good collaboration skills, are responsible, and can prioritize your work based on the current situation. In addition to being confident in your professional role, you enjoy working with people. You have the ability to build trusting relationships with students, guardians, and others you meet in your professional role.
