The Preschool and Primary School Administration is one of Varbergs kommun's largest departments with nearly 2,200 employees. Within our areas of preschool, primary school, and child and student health, we are here for children and students – together we shape the future.
We are looking for a new school nurse who can collaborate with the regular school nurse at our two schools, Påskbergsskolan and Ankarskolan.

WORK TASKS
As a school nurse with us, you have a meaningful and independent assignment where you are a key person for students' health and well-being. You are part of the medical student health services and work closely with both the school and central support functions.
With us, you become part of a professional network of colleagues where we offer support, joint competence development, and experience sharing so you can develop and feel secure in your professional responsibility.
You will work one day each at the two schools. There you can take responsibility for a specific part of the base program.
Main work tasks:
• Work to promote and prevent to provide students with the best possible conditions for learning and development.
• Manage medical interventions in student health according to the base program, which includes health visits, vaccinations according to the childhood vaccination program, growth monitoring, and open clinic.
• Be an active part of the school's student health team (EHT) where you contribute with your medical expertise to create learning environments that promote student health.
• Collaborate with students, guardians, and school staff and maintain external contacts with actors such as pediatrics and child and adolescent mental health services.
• Document work digitally in the Prorenata journal system and ensure high patient safety in all aspects.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who thrives in an independent role where you drive and take responsibility for the medical work at your school with high professional integrity. You have a structured working method that ensures student health interventions are carried out with good order and high patient safety.
As a person, you are skilled at building trust, which makes you a safe point of contact for students and a natural collaboration partner for guardians. You see collaboration as a success factor and contribute your medical expertise to the team to create an environment where every student can feel good and succeed in school.
We are looking for someone who:
• Is a licensed nurse with specialist training as a district nurse, pediatric nurse, or school nurse.
It is meritorious if you have:
• Experience working with children and youth within student health
• Experience with digital documentation, particularly in the Prorenata system
• Experience with interprofessional work.
Salary form: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 3-6 months, start date: 2026-09-01 Start date by agreement, end date: 2026-12-18.
