Job Description Central Student Health Services is part of the school organization responsible for ensuring students have the best possible learning situation. The operation should be based on scientific evidence and proven experience and conducted primarily as health promotion and prevention. As a school nurse, your mission is to use your medical expertise to create the best possible conditions for students' health, development, and learning. Together with the school physician, you are responsible for organizing the student health services' medical interventions in the school in accordance with current guidelines and instructions. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the student health chief, school physician, school leadership, and other student health personnel. This also involves collaboration with students, guardians, school staff, and organizations and agencies outside the school. On a few occasions per school year, you are expected to participate in meetings or training outside the municipality. As a school nurse, you are responsible for offering health visits in accordance with school law, vaccinations within the national vaccination program, supplementary vaccinations, and medical assessments. The assignment also includes monitoring students' work environment from a medical perspective and contributing to a safe school experience. Qualifications Licensed nurse with a specialist nursing program in one of the following areas: District Nursing Child and Youth Health School Nurse Program Meritorious qualifications: Previous experience as a school nurse. Experience with the Prorenata medical records system. Good computer skills and experience working with digital medical records. You work independently and have good planning skills, placing great emphasis on collaboration and relationship-building in your daily work. It is important that you can work independently and have the capacity to plan and prioritize work throughout the school year. We are looking for someone who is flexible and solution-oriented, with the ability to see the whole picture regarding students' needs. You work with care and good judgment and contribute to a positive work environment through collaboration and relationship-building. As a school nurse in Österåkers Municipality, you receive support from a medically responsible school nurse (MLA) and a school physician. As a new employee, you will be offered a mentor and you are part of a work community where school nurses share experiences and support each other in daily work. Regular supervision is offered. The work is based on local guidelines based on recommendations from the National Board of Health and Welfare and the National School Board, as well as applicable laws and regulations. Regular professional meetings are held and collaboration with neighboring healthcare providers and partners is well established. Scope of Employment Full-time 90% For this role, the starting salary is normally between 48,000 - 53,000 SEK depending on experience and qualifications.
