Adapted Upper Secondary School within the Education Administration in Gothenburg consists of 9 different schools geographically distributed throughout the city. Adapted Upper Secondary School is a distinct school form with its own curricula. Over 400 students study national and individual programs here. The schools work based on each student's needs, development, possibilities, and circumstances. We continuously work to develop our educational activities to achieve increased goal attainment for our students. Students are at different developmental levels and have intellectual disabilities, sometimes combined with additional disabilities such as autism, mobility impairments, or visual or hearing impairments. Job Responsibilities We who work within adapted upper secondary school work to create accessible learning environments where all students can develop as much as possible based on their circumstances. By connecting health and learning, you as a school nurse contribute to students' well-being and their ability to achieve the educational goals. You will be one of two school nurses on the adapted upper secondary school's student health team. The two school nurses divide the assignment and school units between them. We are now seeking a school nurse with primary responsibility for 3 school units in the area around Skånegatan. You and your colleague collaborate closely, and as additional support in your work, you will be part of a network for school nurses led by a medical director school nurse. The student health team is organizationally grouped under a common unit manager. The student health assignment is carried out mostly at our schools and is designed in collaboration with the principals. The student health team collaborates on health promotion and prevention work around students and works closely with principals, teachers, and other school staff for student goal attainment. Your work as a school nurse includes, among other things, following Gothenburg City's base program, conducting health conversations and vaccinations, and more. You participate in schools' student health meetings and bring medical expertise to various questions and contexts where you collaborate with educators, principals, and others working at the school on health promotion and prevention initiatives. You conduct analyses of how a student's medical history and current situation affect the need for support and interventions at the individual, group, and organizational levels. The assignment may also include reading medical evaluations and being part of the intake process for new students to the adapted upper secondary school. We would like you to have experience working with people with intellectual disabilities and/or neuropsychiatric disorders (NPD). Since the position involves many contact points, it is important that you are a social, flexible, structured, and perceptive person with excellent collaboration skills. You can work both independently and in a team. You have the ability to inspire and engage your colleagues, are initiative-taking, and see possibilities in different situations. You communicate well with colleagues, students, and guardians. You have good digital competence since much of the daily work is digitalized. Student health uses the digital tool PMO.
