JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a school nurse, you work in health promotion, prevention, and intervention. You offer and conduct health check-ups and vaccinations according to the School Act, the Social Board's guidelines, and applicable local procedures. You also ensure that infectious disease protection legislation and other relevant guidelines are followed. Together with the school counselor, you play an important role in the school's student health team, which also has access to a school physician and school psychologist from the central student health services. The work involves close collaboration with students, guardians, school management, the student health team, other school staff, and other community actors. You take your own initiatives, work independently, and have excellent collaboration skills. You will be employed in our LGBTQ-certified central child and student health department in Alvesta Municipality, based at Hagaskolan. This fall, Hagaskolan welcomed 391 eager students in grades 7-9. You will become part of a valued school nurse team where we meet regularly, share experiences, and develop equivalent and quality school health care together. We support each other in daily work and help when needed, for example during vaccinations or other joint efforts. Your approach and responsibility You need to be able to plan, prioritize, and structure your work independently, set clear time frames, and stick to them. The assignment includes ensuring that the school nurse's core mission is carried out with good quality, while actively taking responsibility for driving and developing health promotion work at the school together with other professionals. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with specialist education in children and youth, a district nurse, or a school nurse. Experience working in school health care is a merit. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities and are looking for someone who is confident in your profession, takes responsibility for your assignment, and wants to actively contribute to the school's student health work. You have an easy time building good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. Since the work involves many contacts, both internally and externally, you need to be clear, attentive, and confident in your professional communication. You thrive in an environment where collaboration, initiative, and a willingness to develop are important parts of everyday life.
