Highlights of the job: - A meaningful assignment where you contribute to children's and young people's health, development, and future - A varied role with work at individual, group, and organizational levels - Close collaboration in an interdisciplinary team within student health services - Opportunity to combine independent work with cooperation with other stakeholders Your responsibilities You meet students from preschool class to upper secondary school for assessment and determinations, including regarding the need for referral for investigation of medical and psychiatric conditions and developmental variations/functional variations. You also participate in student matters together with other collaborating actors such as Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, Disability Services, Social Services, or Health Centers. The assignment is performed in close collaboration with our other staff members within each municipality's student health team. Main responsibilities: - Conduct medical assessments in individual student cases - Provide consultative support to school nurses, psychologists, counselors, and special educators - Participate in student health team (EHT) meetings as needed - Contribute to interdisciplinary investigations for decisions on special support or enrollment in adapted school forms - Issue medical statements (e.g., for enrollment in adapted school according to the Education Act 7 chap. 5 §) - Participate in establishing and developing procedures within EMI - Participate in quality work as well as monitoring and development of operations - Contribute medical expertise to work with mental health, school attendance, and lifestyle habits - Take responsibility for medical guidelines together with the medically responsible school nurse and operations manager Work methods: The work is performed independently but in close collaboration with student health professionals. Participation occurs at planned consultations, EHT meetings, and as needed in the organization. This is a part-time position distributed between Leksand and Gagnef municipalities, with 25% in Leksand and 15% in Gagnef. Working hours are planned in dialogue based on operational needs. Your profile You are a licensed physician with specialist training in general medicine, pediatrics, or child and adolescent psychiatry. Additional specialist training in school health care is meritorious. You have in-depth medical knowledge in the areas of growth, development, endocrinology, mental health, specific learning difficulties, chronic disease conditions and functional limitations in school, vaccinations and infection control, and health-promoting work. Basic computer skills are a requirement, as well as a category B driver's license and access to your own car, as work is conducted at several schools in the two municipalities. Your abilities, skills, and approach are highly valued, as you need to be able to handle children with different needs. It is important that you are pedagogical, thorough, empathetic, trustworthy, have good collaboration skills, and always prioritize our students' best interests – in everything you do.
