We are now looking for someone to strengthen our school's student welfare team as a school counselor. As a school counselor, you work in a preventive and health-promoting manner as well as in an intervention capacity, contributing psychosocial and social expertise in close collaboration with student welfare professionals and other school staff. The school counselor's work includes identifying and analyzing opportunities and promoting factors in the school's learning environment as well as reducing barriers to learning and personal development at the organizational, group, and individual level. In this role, you will conduct conversations with students individually and in groups, attend parent meetings and network meetings, coach and consult school staff, and document case management in preparation for decisions. You will also participate in developing and implementing action plans, for example regarding substance abuse, anti-bullying plans, and active measures to prevent discrimination, crisis management, values-based work, and conflict resolution. In this role, you contribute knowledge about society's resources and support systems and collaborate with social services, child and adolescent psychiatry, rehabilitation services, community and field activities, and the police. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or equivalent education, with previous experience in social work with children and young people, preferably within schools. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. This applies especially to your ability to build good relationships and work both independently and in a group or team. We are looking for someone with high availability for everyone while also having a good ability to set boundaries and is skilled at thinking and working in a structured manner. It is required that you as a school counselor take independent responsibility for your own professional work and how the psychosocial intervention should be concretized and designed. About Vittra Sollentuna: Vittra Sollentuna is centrally located with good transportation links near Sollentuna Center in Sollentuna municipality. The school has approximately 230 students in grades F-9 and approximately 34 employees. The school has access to a pleasant outdoor environment both in terms of the schoolyard and the surrounding area. The school has been renovated in recent years and is bright and beautiful. Additional Information We are looking for a counselor with a social work degree or equivalent. The position is a permanent employment with a 6-month probationary period at 80-100%. Vacation: 5 weeks. Start date by agreement as the position is currently vacant. The school counselor position can be combined as a SYV (Educational and Career Guidance Counselor). Vittra has collective agreements with Lärarnas, Vision, and Kommunal, which include, among other things, occupational pension according to the ITP plan and insurance.
