DUTIES We are looking for a school counselor to cover a temporary position from December 1, 2026 through March 31, 2028. As a counselor, you are part of the school's student health team, whose main task is health-promoting and preventive work. You structure and coordinate social interventions for students with various school-related difficulties. In your role as counselor, you also guide teachers in psychosocial matters, work with students at individual and group levels, and provide supportive conversations with students. Based on the student's needs, you collaborate with teachers, guardians and others within the student health team as well as with social services, child and adolescent psychiatry and others. You are also part of the school's equal treatment team where you work preventively with others in the group and sometimes assist with acute interventions. Examples of work tasks: • health-promoting and preventive work at group level • conduct support, motivation, crisis and conflict conversations as well as investigative, advisory and processing conversations with individual students • initiate and participate in network work around students • map and assess the social situation outside school for individual students • work with groups in acute situations and for preventive purposes • be responsible for revising and updating the school's action plan regarding sexuality, consent and relationships • be responsible for following up the school's equal treatment work • provide professional supervision and consultation to school staff • contribute social and psychosocial perspectives to the development of educational activities QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a degree in social work. If you have experience working in a school environment or similar work experience, we consider that a merit. As a school counselor at Vimarskolan 7-9, you are good at collaboration but can also plan and prioritize your work and perform it independently. You have an outgoing and inclusive approach and build good relationships with educators, students and guardians. You treat people's differences with respect and share society's and the school's values, including regarding inclusion. Furthermore, you are comfortable working with both small and larger groups of students and staff, to meet the requirements of the education act regarding preventive and health-promoting work. You follow current research and base your development work on an analysis of previous results. Furthermore, you have a command of the Swedish language that allows you to communicate with students, relatives and other staff, and can document in writing what the activities require. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Employment type: Fixed-term employment. Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: 2026-12-01, end date: 2028-03-31.
