Kvarnbergsskolan serves approximately 300 students from preschool through grade 6. Responsibilities The position is based at Kvarnbergsskolan where you will work as a school counselor. Up to 40% of the position may, if needed, be distributed centrally within the Learning and Health department, meaning you will also contribute to broader student support work. As a school counselor with us, you work both preventatively and promotively in close collaboration with school leadership, the student support team, and other staff. You contribute psychosocial expertise to support pedagogical work and the development of the school's operations. Your responsibilities include, among other things: contributing knowledge about students' psychosocial health and social situation providing support to teachers and other staff on student-related matters working with the school's values and equal treatment providing guidance and consultation to staff collaborating with external stakeholders and contributing knowledge about societal support systems conducting support, motivational, counseling, and crisis conversations with students and guardians investigating and assessing students' social and psychosocial situation to inform decisions about specialized support Qualifications We are looking for someone with a degree in social work. We view favorably any experience working with children and young people, but we value equally highly your personal suitability and commitment. You express yourself well in Swedish both verbally and in writing, and you can document your work in a professional manner. We are looking for someone who is self-driven and takes responsibility for advancing your work. At the same time, you have good collaboration skills and enjoy working closely with colleagues in the student support team. You are attentive, relationship-building, and have a professional demeanor toward students, guardians, and colleagues.
