Kärraskolan is now seeking a counselor for grades F-3 and adapted primary school, and Svenska Balettskolan is seeking a counselor for grades 4-9.
Kärraskolan is an F-9 school located in central Kärra. It is surrounded by green spaces and has been largely rebuilt over the past few years. We have approximately 820 students, 35 of whom attend adapted primary school. To create a good learning environment, we focus on knowledge, safety, and enjoyable learning. All students should have the opportunity to develop according to their abilities and circumstances.
Svenska Balettskolan is a unique primary school with a government mandate to provide preparatory dance education in grades 4–9. The program has national enrollment and is run by the Primary School Administration. The school is its own unit with approximately 110 students from across the Västra Götalandsregionen who come to us every day to study all regular primary school subjects and train in dance at an elite level. Svenska Balettskolan is located at Selma Lagerlöfs torg in Backa.

Responsibilities
Together with a special educator, school nurse, school psychologist, and principals, you are part of the schools' student wellbeing team that works to support students in their education and social situation. All staff prioritize student wellbeing and good academic achievement, and as a school counselor you work preventively and promotively with other student wellbeing professionals. You also work with investigations, follow-ups, and documentation in cases of bullying and harassment. When needed, you mentor educators and work teams on social issues. In work with individual students, you conduct social assessments that form the basis for principal and student wellbeing decisions. The work also involves close collaboration with child psychiatry services, rehabilitation services, and social services, among others.
You will be part of a network with other counselors in schools around the area and will be offered continuous supervision. With us, you will perform exciting and meaningful work with the opportunity to make a real difference!
The position is divided with 70% at Kärraskolan and 30% at Svenska Balettskolan.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or equivalent higher education that the employer deems relevant.
Previous experience working as a school counselor in primary school and adapted primary school is meritorious. Knowledge and experience regarding intellectual disabilities and NPF are also meritorious. You need to have a strong sense of quality in documentation and planning. We use the PMO record system to systematically document ongoing student wellbeing work. The work also requires good knowledge of legislation governing school operations, confidentiality, and municipal administration.

We value your ability to work in a structured, solution-focused, and systematic manner, as well as your calm demeanor, empathetic ability, and stability in interactions with students and parents.
