Are you a school counselor? Do you have experience working with students in need of special support? We are now looking for a dedicated school counselor at 60% for two of our schools. Baldersskolan is a municipal primary school beautifully located in a residential area in western Danderyd and covers grades F-3 with approximately 200 students. Kevinge Anpassad primary school with a focus on subject areas grades 1-6 and subject areas for children grades 1–9 is centrally located near Danderyds center (formerly Mörby center). Kevinge primary school with just over 170 students in the grades is also located here. DUTIES As a school counselor with us, you work with psychosocial interventions primarily through preventive and health-promoting work. The work takes place at organizational, group, and individual levels and in close collaboration with colleagues in the student wellness team (also the safety team), with other relevant staff, and with guardians. You are the schools' expert in social legislation and study social matters and collaborate with other organizations within the municipality such as social services, BUP, and Ungt fokus (field assistants). Your work and division of responsibilities between the 2 schools is Wednesdays, Thursdays, and one additional day (60% total). You will collaborate with other school counselors in the Western Danderyd schools and Danderyds Municipality through, among other things, professional supervision, network meetings to promote attendance, etc. Your responsibilities include: • working preventively and promotively by actively participating in various contexts during the student's school day • social investigation and assessment work • conversations with students, individually and in groups • crisis and conflict management • coaching and supporting educators on matters concerning students' social situations • supporting colleagues before and during difficult conversations and contacts with guardians • collaborating on transitions between different grade levels and schools • leading systematic quality work in the safety and well-being area • documenting in ProRenata QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has: • a degree as a social worker (socionom) • previous work experience as a school counselor • digital competence for documentation and other administrative tasks • very good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written • experience and knowledge of students in need of support It is advantageous if you have experience in preventive work against bullying and further training in supervision, CBT, or similar. You find it easy to build good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians alike. You often take the initiative for social contact and adapt your message to the target audience. You are a very good listener who easily understands others' situations and perspectives. You are stable and maintain a professional demeanor in stressful situations. You have very good collaboration skills with both internal and external contacts, with the student in focus. Your work is based on the activities' needs and goals. You have the ability to actively contribute to the student wellness team's commitment, professionalism, and focus on both finding strength in what actually works really well and what we should be proud of, without losing sight of what we need to follow up on and can continue to develop.
