About Amerikanska Gymnasiet, Halmstad The school is located on the Halmstad University campus. The school is now in its fifth academic year and has approximately 160 students studying in the Natural Sciences, Economics, or Social Sciences programs. Teaching is conducted in both English and Swedish by a competent teaching team with strong camaraderie. About the Role As a school counselor, you represent the psychosocial perspective in work at the individual, group, and organizational levels. You participate in the student health team meetings, document according to applicable regulations, and work cross-professionally with the school nurse, special educator, vocational counselor, principal, and teachers. You offer consultation and guidance on psychosocial matters and provide professional development for staff as needed. You play an important role in developing and working with the plan against discrimination and harassment and values-based work. You have individual contact with both students and guardians and offer students support, assessment, and crisis counseling. When necessary, you conduct investigations. This is a temporary position at 20%, during the 2026/2027 academic year. Start date as soon as possible or by agreement. Your Profile We are looking for someone with knowledge of social work, the welfare system, society and behavior, systems theory, conversation methodology, and law. You are also familiar with the school's regulations and understand where your expertise is needed to fulfill the school's mission. As a person, you are independent and take initiative. You are confident in your role and enjoy collaborating with others. Prevention and health promotion work is something you are interested in and have the competence to develop together with us. You are expected to have good communication skills in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written. You have the ability to use a wide range of digital platforms and maintain solid digital competence. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability. Application Deadline: September 14, 2026.
