School Counselor

About the role and your responsibilities As a school counselor, you will be part of the school's student welfare team and collaborate with the principal, teaching staff, school nurse, school psychologist, and special education teacher. According to the Education Act, student welfare primarily works to promote students' health, development, and goal achievement. Your responsibilities include conducting group-oriented interventions, having individual conversations with students, and providing guidance to staff on certain matters. The role includes maintaining contact with other government agencies. You will work in the Vallkärra/Håstad and Stångby schools area, which consists of four schools with students from preschool class through grade 6. We are looking for you We are looking for someone who is trained as a social worker with experience working with children and young people. Documented experience working as a counselor is a merit, as is experience as a social secretary within social services. To succeed in this role, you are a person with a sense of responsibility and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work independently. Great emphasis will be placed on qualities such as social competence, flexibility, collaboration ability, and the capacity to maintain a salutogenic perspective in student welfare work. The position requires the ability to work independently while also having excellent collaboration skills and the ability to build good relationships with students, guardians, colleagues, and external parties. You should be someone driven to work together with others to find the best possible solutions for long-term and sustainable student welfare work.
