Stenstalidskolan is one of our three F-9 schools that together with Strandskolan (F-3) and Ölmeskolan (F-6) form the northern school area. Adapted primary school subject areas are also located here. Here, each grade level has its own naturally defined area with space for play, creativity and proximity to forest and nature. The position is placed at Stenstalidskolan, but you will also perform work tasks at Strandskolan and Ölmeskolan. WORK TASKS As a school librarian with us, you are responsible for the daily operations of the school library. The role includes handling borrowing and returning of materials as well as continuously maintaining and updating the library's book and media collection. You plan and conduct activities that strengthen students' love of reading and develop their information literacy. An important part of the assignment is to support both students and teachers in information searching and source criticism. You work closely with school management and educators to integrate the school library into teaching and contribute to student learning. Furthermore, you organize reading promotion initiatives such as book clubs, author visits and reading competitions that inspire increased reading enjoyment and engagement. QUALIFICATIONS You who are applying for this position have a degree in library and information science or other relevant higher education that we consider appropriate. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of literature and information searching, GDPR and privacy in the handling of user data. Since language is our primary tool, you need to have good knowledge in speaking and writing Swedish. We consider it an advantage if you have: • previous experience working in a library, preferably in a school environment • knowledge of children's and young adult literature • competence in digital tools and source criticism • understanding of the school's curriculum and how libraries can support student learning • a B driver's license as travel to other schools within the school area is included. As a person, you have a good ability to build relationships with students and colleagues. You also have good pedagogical skills where you understand students' different conditions for learning. With your creativity and initiative, you create an inspiring library operation. You have knowledge of different reading strategies and methods to inspire a love of reading in our students and you have a flexible approach. Collaboration is important to you and you contribute to a positive work climate where everyone feels involved. Furthermore, you are thorough and have a structure that facilitates your work.
