Runby School is now seeking an engaged and development-driven school librarian who wants to contribute to developing the school library as an integral part of the school's pedagogical activities. We are looking for someone who wants to work in the school environment and who, together with teachers and school leadership, wants to create teaching-related, reading-promoting, and knowledge-developing activities for our students. About Us Runby School is a public grades F–9 school with approximately 1,100 students, including adapted primary education and a municipal shared autism program. The school has a sports and outdoor profile and actively works with sustainable development. The school currently has an established library in the upper secondary building where one staff member works. At the same time, we are moving to the next phase in developing the school library service. An important part of the role will be to establish school library services for the lower grades and resource unit. Here there is an opportunity to, together with school leadership and teachers, build both activities and the library environment based on student needs and the school's pedagogical goals. About the Position As a school librarian at Runby School, you will be part of the school's pedagogical activities. You will collaborate with teachers, school leadership, and other professionals to develop the school library as a natural part of teaching and student learning. The role includes, among other things: planning, implementing, and following up teaching initiatives in media and information literacy (MIK) in collaboration with teachers contributing to strengthening the school's reading culture through teaching-related and reading-promoting initiatives developing relevant and accessible media collections based on student needs and teaching content establishing and developing school library services for the lower grades and resource unit collaborating with work teams and school leadership regarding the school library's role in the school's systematic quality work contributing to developing students' reading comprehension, critical thinking, and information competence working to make the school library a natural part of students' and teachers' daily lives We work in the Quria library system. The position is a permanent full-time employment with start date by agreement. Are You the Person We're Looking For? We are looking for someone with a completed degree in library and information science. It is a merit if you have experience working in a school library. As a person, you are initiative-taking, relationship-building, and comfortable collaborating with different professionals. You are motivated by building up, developing, and establishing school library services together with others. You have a strong interest in children's and young people's reading and learning and want to contribute to making the school library a natural part of teaching and student education.
