Ministry of Education and Science (Reg. No. 90000022399) announces an open competition for the position of Director of Rēzekne Vocational School (for an indefinite period) Application deadline: August 10, 2026 Position Objective: To manage and ensure the operations of the vocational school in accordance with the basic directions and tasks specified in the school's regulations. Requirements for Position Candidates: Candidates must not be subject to restrictions stipulated in the Education Law and Child Rights Protection Law regarding work as a pedagogue. State language proficiency at the highest level in accordance with the State Language Law requirements. Higher education as specified in Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 569 of September 11, 2018 "Regulations on Education and Professional Qualifications Required for Pedagogues and the Procedure for Professional Development of Pedagogues." Experience in a management position in the state, municipal, or private sector – preferably longer than three years. At least three years of pedagogical work experience in the education field or education management. Experience in implementing projects co-financed by foreign financial instruments, including project management and procurement organization. Experience in cooperation with professional organizations in the sector and social partners. Desirable experience in vocational education or industries related to the vocational school's operations. Knowledge of regulatory acts governing the education institution's operations, the vocational education field, and its development trends. Knowledge of the principles of institutional financial and budget management. Knowledge of personnel management processes in public administration and the functioning of internal control systems. Knowledge of the basic principles of public administration institution operations. At least one foreign language (English, German, or French) at a level required for professional work. Ability to set priorities, plan, organize, and control one's own and subordinates' work. Presentation skills (using digital technologies). Communication and argumentation skills. Gross monthly salary from 2171 euro to 2995 euro (based on Point 6 of Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 445 of July 5, 2016 "Regulations on Teachers' Remuneration" and internal regulations of the Ministry of Education and Science establishing the procedure for determining monthly salaries for heads of educational institutions under the Ministry of Education and Science). Work location – Varoņu Street 11a, Rēzekne Documents to be Submitted by Position Candidates: motivated application letter for participation in the competition, which should: include information confirming the professional work experience specified in the announcement, indicating the period during which such experience was acquired (if the application letter does not describe the work experience required for the position, the competition commission will consider that the candidate lacks such experience); include a confirmation that restrictions stipulated in Article 50, Paragraph 1, Point 1 of the Education Law and Article 72, Paragraphs 5 and 6 of the Child Rights Protection Law do not apply to the candidate; life history and work experience description (Curriculum Vitae), without indicating personal sensitive data; strategic vision – presentation on the topic "My strategic vision and proposals for the development of Rēzekne Vocational School's operations in the coming three years and the development of the leading economic sectors it represents." The presentation must be prepared using PowerPoint, containing no more than 10 slides (presentation pages), presentation duration 7 to 10 minutes, its content should be prepared partly in Latvian and partly in a foreign language (English, German, or French); copies of documents confirming education (for candidates who obtained education abroad, a certificate from the Academic Information Centre on the academic recognition of education in Latvia must be attached); copy of a document confirming state language proficiency (for candidates who did not obtain primary, secondary, or higher education in accredited educational programs conducted in Latvian); indicate at least 2 contacts of reference providers from previous workplaces, preferably supervisors. Position candidates should apply within 20 (twenty) days from the publication of the announcement on the Employment State Agency Vacancies Portal, submitting the required documents to the email address [email protected] with the notation "Rēzekne Vocational School Director".
