Job Description Do you want to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? Then the position as School and Activities Coordinator at SiS is a meaningful challenge for you. As a School and Activities Coordinator at our newly established discharge preparation unit, you will be an important part of youth's journey toward a more independent life. The unit is part of the institution in Örkelljunga, but you work closely with young people in their daily lives in a residence outside the institutional area, located in Helsingborg. You work together with treatment pedagogues and a group leader on the unit and are part of the multiprofessional treatment team. The unit is led by a unit manager. Your direct supervisor is the principal of the youth home's school. Together, you are responsible for ensuring that the young people living with us receive the security, care, and treatment they need. The unit is an open treatment unit and an important part of SiS's internal care pathway, which aims for a gradual and structured transition from care in an institutional environment to more open forms. The focus is to support youth in establishing and maintaining functioning strategies and skills for life after placement at SiS. Treatment activities consist mainly of skills training aimed at preparing young people for a functioning life after discharge, both practically and socially. The work may also encompass other units at the youth home. The School and Activities Coordinator's task is to procure, coordinate, plan, and follow up on schooling, leisure activities, internships, summer jobs, and other services and activities in the residence municipality for the placed youth on the unit. This also includes supporting and following the young people in these areas. It involves a large part of collaboration with both internal and external parties, such as schools and workplaces in Helsingborg, sports clubs, as well as serving as a bridge to the youth home's school in Örkelljunga and its functions. You participate in the treatment team and are responsible there for ensuring that goals and activities needed based on schooling/internships and leisure activities are incorporated into the treatment plan, implemented, and followed up. You work together with unit staff on the daily planning of youth and how it should be carried out. An important shared responsibility for all employees is to contribute to creating a safe environment and ensuring that security is maintained according to procedures. Working hours are primarily scheduled during office hours, but evening work may occur. As a new employee, you will complete SiS's basic training. In the training, theory alternates with supervised introduction, and the training equips you for your job in SiS's operations. Qualifications To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of people and good self-awareness. You are motivated to help people in a vulnerable life situation and you share SiS's value base of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have personal maturity and distinguish between the personal and professional in workplace relationships. You communicate clearly and ensure that expectations are clear for all parties involved. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. You prefer to collaborate well with other people, internally and externally, and enjoy building and maintaining professional relationships. In your work with and approach to children and young people, you are attentive and affirming. You are able to build relationships, motivate, and create cooperation with children and young people with challenging behaviors and help them feel trust and confidence in their own abilities. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities and abilities. You should also have: Appropriate higher education such as career counseling studies, teacher training, social work/social pedagogy, or other equivalent higher education, alternatively a 2-year vocational college, such as leisure leader training. Substantial experience of work within schools. Experience of work within activities with focus on school, internships, and leisure for the target group. Experience of motivation work, collaboration, and coordination of services for children and young people regarding schooling, internships, and leisure activities.
