The Swedish Forest Agency is seeking you to work with supervision of timber harvesting notifications. We are recruiting 2 forest consultants for the Central Region as part of strengthening our work with supervision according to the Forestry Act and the Environmental Code. You will be stationed at one of the region's district offices, see relevant locations further down in this announcement. You will work with supervision throughout the entire region and together with supervision officers from all district offices.
As a forest consultant, you will have a job with varied and stimulating tasks as well as ongoing professional development.
Your Work Will Include
You will work with processing timber harvesting notifications and supervision according to the Forestry Act and the Environmental Code. Work tasks are performed primarily at the office, but fieldwork may occur. The work involves contacts with forest owners, other active parties in forestry, and relevant authorities and organizations.
As an employee of the Swedish Forest Agency, you are expected to contribute to the development of our operations.
Depending on your competence, focus, and operational needs, other work may also become relevant. Examples include participating in advisory activities, inventories, various projects, or our commissioned work.
Work is conducted over a larger geographic area than your home district, so longer travels and overnight stays may occasionally be necessary.
Qualifications
You have a forestry or other natural science university degree, or another relevant education within the field. We appreciate if you have experience in forest production, forest nature conservation issues, and knowledge of forest-dwelling species.
Experience with case management in public administration is a merit, as are experience and knowledge of the Environmental Code and the Forestry Act. We value strong IT/GIS skills.
We place great importance on your personal qualities. You plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively. You are analytical and have the ability to synthesize complex information and drive your cases forward. You are communicative, pedagogical, and can conduct dialogue in a trustworthy manner with landowners, other actors, and stakeholders in the forest sector.
Class B driver's license for manual transmission is required.
Our Offer to You
We offer two fixed-term employment contracts (360 days) at 100%. Employment commences as soon as possible or by agreement.
We apply individual salary setting and trust-based working hours. The option for a remote work agreement is available.
Stationing is at one of our following offices within Central Region: Nyköping, Örebro, Karlstad, or Västerås. Indicate your preferred station location in your application.
