The Swedish Forest Agency is seeking you to work with supervision of felling notifications. We are recruiting 2 forest consultants for Region Mitt as part of strengthening our supervisory work under the Forestry Act and the Environmental Code. You will be stationed at one of the region's districts, see current locations further down in this announcement. You will work with supervision throughout the entire region and together with supervisory handlers from all districts.
As a forest consultant, you will have a job with varied and stimulating tasks as well as continuous professional development.
What the work includes
You will work with processing felling notifications, supervision according to the Forestry Act and the Environmental Code. Tasks are performed primarily in the office, but field work may occur. The work involves contact with forest owners, other actors in forestry, and relevant authorities and organizations.
As an employee of the Swedish Forest Agency, you are expected to contribute to the development of our operations.
Depending on your expertise, focus, and the needs of the operation, other work may also become relevant. Examples of this could be participating in advisory activities, inventories, various projects, or our commissioned services.
Work is conducted over a larger geography than your home district, so longer trips and overnight stays may be needed in some cases.
Qualifications
You have a forest science or other natural science university degree, or another relevant education within the field of work. We welcome experience in forest production, forest conservation issues, and knowledge of forest-dwelling species.
Experience with case handling within public administration is meritorious, as is experience and knowledge of the Environmental Code and the Forestry Act. We value strong IT/GIS skills.
We place great importance on your personal qualities. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work well. You are analytical and have the ability to weigh complex information and drive your cases forward. You are communicative, pedagogical, and can conduct dialogue with landowners, other actors, and stakeholders in the forestry sector in a trustworthy manner.
A Class B driver's license for manual transmission is a requirement.
What we offer you
We offer two fixed-term employments (360 days) at 100%. Start date is as soon as possible or by agreement.
We apply individual salary setting and trust-based working hours. A remote work agreement is possible.
Stationing is at one of our following offices in Region Mitt: Nyköping, Örebro, Karlstad, or Västerås. Please indicate your preferred stationing location in your application.
