ENA Energi AB, founded in 1972, is fully owned by Enköping Municipality through the company Enköpings Moderbolag AB. Since the mid-1990s, when the cogeneration plant was commissioned, the company has produced electricity and district heating from nearly 100% biomass fuel. ENA Energi AB has over 40 employees and delivers approximately 220 GWh to approximately 1,800 customers through a district heating network spanning 120 km and produces approximately 75 GWh of electricity. Shift-Based Operations Technician/Operations Engineer at ENA Energi AB Do you want to be part of operating a socially important energy business at the forefront? ENA Energi is now seeking both operations technicians and operations engineers for our cogeneration plant in Enköping. Depending on your experience, education, and qualifications, the position will be tailored and filled as either an operations technician or operations engineer. About Us ENA Energi is a municipally owned energy company that produces district heating and electricity for Enköping Municipality. Our production is based largely on biomass fuels, and we actively work on developing sustainable energy solutions for the future. The cogeneration plant delivers both heat and electricity year-round and plays a central role in the municipality's energy supply. About the Role As an operations technician or operations engineer, you work closely with the day-to-day operation of the facility and contribute to safe, efficient, and environmentally sound production. Examples of work tasks: Monitoring and optimization of boilers, turbines, and auxiliary systems Troubleshooting and problem-solving during operational disruptions Participation in operations and maintenance planning and improvement work Analysis of operational data and monitoring of efficiency and environmental performance Operator maintenance and systematic deviation reporting Participation in audit work and development of operating procedures and process solutions Contribution to projects and development work The facility consists of a wood chip-fired cogeneration block with associated steam turbine, flue gas cooler, and water treatment. In addition, there are steam and hot water boilers using pellets and oil as fuel. The role involves great responsibility and considerable variety – from fuel input to ash handling and, for example, operating a wheel loader. We are in the process of building new boilers and facilities and implementing optimization systems for production planning. Shift work is the main rule, but periods of daytime work and on-call duty may occur. We Are Looking for You For the operations technician role, we would like you to have: Operations technician education or equivalent experience Experience from process industry, cogeneration, energy, water/sanitation, chemistry, or similar operations Knowledge of water chemistry and change management Good technical understanding and a safety-conscious work approach Ability to work independently and as part of a team For the operations engineer role, we would additionally like you to have: Engineering education in energy, mechanical, process, automation, or similar field Experience with process optimization, analysis, and technical development work Ability to drive improvement initiatives and contribute strategically to operations It is meritorious if you have experience in cogeneration production, steam processes, combustion, automation/PLC, or environmental and energy issues. A boiler operator certificate is meritorious. Other Information The position is located in Enköping. On-call duty may occur with 1 hour notice. A Class B driver's license is required.
