At the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (Bup) emergency department and acute ward in Malmö, we meet children and adolescents when life is at its most difficult. In those moments, they need trustworthy adults around them. We are now recruiting temporary nurses around the clock who want to become an important part of our team and contribute when the operation needs reinforcement. Bup 24-hour care in Malmö provides specialized psychiatric 24-hour care for children and adolescents up to 18 years old from throughout Scania. At our emergency department and acute ward, we meet patients who need acute psychiatric care, for example in cases of severe suicide risk, life-threatening eating disorders, psychosis, mania, or other serious psychiatric conditions. It is work that can be challenging but also extremely meaningful. Sometimes it is precisely your presence, your approach, or your ability to create calm in a difficult situation that becomes what the patient remembers. We believe that recovery begins with relationships. A respectful meeting, a safe presence, and someone who can stay when things are difficult can be decisive for a young person's way forward. WORK RESPONSIBILITIES As a temporary employee with us, you are not just an extra resource. You are an important part of our staffing and a source of security for both patients, relatives, and colleagues. Unplanned absences are part of our daily reality in healthcare. When someone becomes ill, when staffing suddenly changes, we need to be able to ensure that our patients still receive the safe and professional care they are entitled to. This is why our temporary nurses are so valuable. As a temporary nurse with us, you will: - Be part of an engaged and competent team. - Work in modern and safe facilities in Hyllie. - Meet a varied and educational operation where no two days are the same. - Use and develop your skills in child and adolescent psychiatric acute care. - Help create security for children, adolescents, and their families. - Have the opportunity to influence when and how you work based on the operation's needs and your availability. As a nurse, your work with us is varied. It can include triage and assessment of patients at the emergency department, carrying out nursing assessments and psychiatric observations, as well as providing nursing care and treatment at the acute ward. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with authorization to work within Swedish healthcare. Swedish at a level equivalent to at least C1 according to the Council of Europe scale is a requirement. Specialist training in psychiatry is a merit, as is training in CBT step 1 and experience with Melior. Experience in psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, or acute care is a merit, but what is most important to us is that you have commitment, a sense of responsibility, and a desire to make a difference. We also see that you are empathetic, confident, and professional in your approach. You work well in collaboration, but can also make independent decisions when the situation requires it.
