We care for patients undergoing coronary artery, heart valve, and aortic aneurysm surgery. We also provide nationally specialized care for heart and lung transplants as well as adult patients with congenital heart defects. The department has 21 beds. Most patients have a shorter hospital stay, approximately six to eight days. Transplant patients, for example, are typically hospitalized for four to eight weeks.
We operate largely according to the Magnet Model. As part of this, we use the Competence and Service Model (KTM), a professional development program for nurses with clear career paths, a focus on education, and skills development.
Being a patient with advanced heart disease is challenging and requires person-centered care, which we strive to deliver every day. This includes having primary care nurses/nursing assistants who provide continuity by following the same patients. The patients' experience of their situation and health guides our daily work, and patients with more complicated care trajectories are discussed in nursing rounds twice a week. These rounds include various professions and professional categories working together with patients to provide excellent care.
We have close collaboration between nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, secretaries, service staff, and physicians to best meet our patients' care needs. We value and facilitate education in various forms, both academic and internal. The department has specialist nurses with deepened care responsibilities whose primary task is to support the care of patients with complex care needs alongside the regular care team. They provide important knowledge support in daily work.

WORK TASKS
Two of our nurses have chosen to pursue specialist training this fall, and now we're looking for you to join our team! As a newly graduated or experienced nurse, you have the chance to become part of our exciting department!
As an experienced nurse with us, there are great opportunities for professional development, and as a newly graduated nurse, you can build highly sought-after expertise. After working with us for a while, there's an opportunity to receive paid specialist training in cardiac care. We continuously strive toward high competency within our operations and see this as part of our nurses' career development.
We believe that competence and safe care form the foundation of a secure work environment, and we therefore place great emphasis on both orientation and further education.
As a newly hired nurse, you'll receive a customized orientation program that includes six weeks of shadowing, theory, and observerships at nearby departments. After that, you'll participate in our internal skills development program, KomUp, during your first year with us.
You'll have a smooth start in our operations by progressively increasing your responsibility for the team during your orientation. Once you're settled in, you'll work together with a nursing assistant, physician, and responsible physiotherapist to care for four to seven patients.
QUALIFICATIONS
You enjoy developing professionally and want to share your knowledge. It's important that you're comfortable in an environment that requires flexibility and the ability to handle rapid prioritization in your work, and that you see the person you're caring for. You are open, responsive, and collaborate well with other team members, contributing to a positive work environment. We place great importance on professional collaboration where your professional competence, teamwork ability, approach to patients, adherence to our values, and attitude toward work are important.
You must be a licensed nurse with authorization to practice in Swedish healthcare. Swedish language proficiency at least equivalent to level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale is required.
