Welcome to the Acute Orthopedic Department in Kristianstad! The Acute Orthopedic Department is part of the Surgical Operations Area (VO) and is one of the largest operations areas at Centralsjukhuset Kristianstad. We have outpatient services with surgical, vascular, upper/lower gastro and breast/plastic patients as well as an oncology treatment unit. The other departments within our operations area are Acute Surgical Department (KAVA), Surgical Department, Urology and Vascular Department, Gynecological Surgery, and Ear-Nose-Throat. Between departments we have active collaboration with good opportunities for specialization. The orthopedic operations at Centralsjukhuset Kristianstad (CSK) include acute surgeries, outpatient services, and acute care ward. Elective orthopedic operations are conducted at the hospital in Hässleholm. Our orthopedic operations area is a university healthcare unit. Our ambition level is high and we strive toward the common goal of delivering high quality care. Acute Orthopedic Department is at the forefront of care development and patient care. Work at our department is varied where no two days are alike. In your role as a nurse you will be challenged and developed by varying tasks, including both pre- and postoperative care as well as rehabilitation. In an interprofessional team you work together with patients and other professions to create conditions for the best person-centered care. We put patients in focus and to make this possible we strive to reduce the number of patients per nurse. - Every day brings exciting encounters with patients. The work can be challenging, especially in acute situations, but it is also incredibly rewarding and educational. We are a wonderful team that supports each other and we have close collaboration with physicians. WORK TASKS Now we welcome more colleagues who want to work day, evening, and night shifts. We welcome both those who have worked for a while and gathered valuable experience in the profession and those who are new to the role. Together with the team, as a nurse you have responsibility for the nursing tasks that occur on an operating acute care ward such as planning and performing nursing care and medical treatments. During our pulse round all staff have the opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge with all our professions. As a nurse you act as a group leader in a constellation consisting of nurses and nursing assistants. Many of our patients also have internal medical conditions, which means you continuously develop your expertise. In addition to direct patient work, all staff participate in developing and improving care for our patients. We regularly offer internal lectures and workshops to share knowledge. As a newly hired nurse you receive an adapted introduction over six weeks. As a newly graduated nurse you also have the opportunity to participate in Region Skåne's clinical foundation year which includes lectures, clinical skills training, and mentor meetings. Employment is on a basic schedule with rotation between day/evening/night shifts, where working hours can be arranged at the employee's request and with supervisory agreement to consist mainly of day, evening, or night shifts. Weekend duty is included, two out of five weekends. The department uses a request-based schedule. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who wants to develop and be challenged in their professional role. Regarding formal requirements, you are a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare.
