We care for patients with various heart conditions, ranging from observation of suspected heart disease to advanced multimorbidity. Our patient population is diverse, including both young and elderly patients. The unit consists of 30 beds divided into three medical flows: coronary artery disease, heart failure and valve disease, and arrhythmia. The unit includes a coronary angiography and PCI laboratory with both acute and elective patients. The operations also include pacemaker implantations and electrical cardioversion of cardiac arrhythmias. There is also an ultrasound laboratory and nurse-led clinics for arrhythmias, pacemakers, and long-term EKG monitoring. The unit collaborates with other departments in both Lund and Malmö, for example thoracic surgery and intensive care, as well as other hospitals in and outside the region. All staff categories work closely together with the patient in focus. Within cardiac care at Skåne University Hospital (Sus), research is conducted at local, national, and international levels. This means we are at the forefront as a unit where you as a nurse are continuously engaged in various research studies and thus contribute to advancing development for all of cardiac care. 2 position(s). DUTIES We offer you as a nurse a stimulating and developmental work environment with the goal that all employees feel joy in work, pride, and loyalty. The work is varied and you alternate between the ward and the coronary angiography laboratory. On the cardiology unit, your base placement is in one of the medical flows: coronary artery disease or heart failure and valve disease/arrhythmia. This allows you to gain deeper understanding and expertise regarding that specific flow's patients. Since all three flows are part of the same unit, we naturally help each other, and you will work in and gain knowledge within all three medical flows. The team around the patient consists of nurses, nursing assistants, physicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapist, dietitian, and medical secretaries. Working in the coronary angiography laboratory involves varied work. Tasks in coronary angiography operations include being the responsible nurse for patients in the lab, handling pre- and post-operative care for coronary angiography/PCI procedures. It is an advantage if you are technically interested and if you have an interest in sterile work. There is also an opportunity for further education as an assisting nurse in coronary angiography operations. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who have initiative and a strong interest in development, learning, and of course cardiac care! You feel confident in your professional role and the rapid prioritizations and shifts in focus that can occur in acute situations. The formal requirements for the position are that you are a licensed nurse with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. Swedish language skills at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale are also required.
