We also conduct highly specialized investigations and provide intermediate care where the most seriously ill children are treated. We have recently been commissioned to provide national specialized care in several areas. This gives you the opportunity to gain increased competence in pediatric nursing within areas such as serious chronic lung diseases and epilepsy surgery investigations. At the same time, we are now expanding our department to be able to receive children with other diagnoses who need acute care. Each child cared for on the department has a unique disease presentation and therefore needs individualized solutions and treatments. We provide both acute and planned care at several different care levels. As a nurse or pediatric nurse with us, you have great opportunities to develop within your profession and gain broad knowledge within our specialties. To be able to provide highly specialized care, collaboration between several different professions is of great importance. The department is staffed by nurses, nursing assistants, physicians, a pharmacist, and administrators. Connected to the department are also physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, social workers, psychologists, medical secretaries, and play therapists. The patient's unique needs determine which professions should be part of the team around the individual child and family. We have close collaboration between all professional disciplines, a training-oriented culture, and, not least, a pleasant workplace. We work with a child and family-centered approach and follow the Nordic Association for the Needs of Sick Children (NOBAB) standard and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. 3 position(s). DUTIES We are now welcoming three nurses or pediatric nurses to our team at the Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine Department in Lund. As a nurse or pediatric nurse with us, you work to provide the child and family with the best possible care and treatment. During a typical day, you engage in tasks such as blood sampling, examinations, ward rounds, medication administration, and coordination with other professions. Since we are a department where we perform both acute and planned surgeries, you also work with pre- and postoperative care. As a new colleague with us, you receive an individually tailored introduction schedule of at least ten weeks where you, together with your supervisor, build a solid foundation and create conditions for you to feel secure in your new role. You are offered a training program in pediatric nursing during your first year. To strengthen your professional and personal development, we have unit-responsible nurses at the workplace. Their function is to be part of your introduction and development and to serve as a mentor for you after your introduction is complete. With us you have opportunities for skills development as we regularly offer training, both internally and externally, as well as opportunities for shadowing in other operations. You work two of five weekends on a rotating ten-week schedule. Each schedule period includes time allocated for training and improvement work. Working hours are arranged through a wish schedule. The positions are temporary assignments running until December 31, 2027, as well as permanent employment. QUALIFICATIONS We welcome you if you are a licensed nurse or a further educated pediatric nurse with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. Furthermore, you have Swedish language skills that at least correspond to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale. If you have prior experience in pediatric nursing, this is considered a merit.
