We are a force that brings together, holds firm, and develops the region. Within Region Västernorrland, we are all part of something greater.
About the Operation
The Infectious Disease Clinic is located in Sundsvall and holds regional responsibility for infectious disease care throughout Västernorrland County. Each year we receive approximately 6,800 patients.
We practice person-centered care, which means the patient is in focus and more involved in their treatment. We currently have 12 care beds divided between two care teams consisting of nurses, nursing assistants, physicians, a dietitian, and an occupational therapist. The ward has only single rooms and isolation rooms with airlock systems. We are temporarily sharing the ward with the lung outpatient clinic during their renovation, which is why we have double-occupancy rooms.
We are now seeking nurses for night shifts to join our wonderful team. This is a permanent position, full-time, with a start date by agreement.
Duties
As a nurse, you will work on our inpatient ward where we diagnose and treat infectious diseases such as: pneumonia, endocarditis, meningitis, sepsis and TB, tropical diseases, hantavirus, tularemia, hepatitis, HIV, legionella, soft tissue infections, CNS infections, rat-bite fever, shingles, spondylitis, mpox, ebola, encephalitis, norovirus, MERS, and more.
We offer a wide variety of care, which gives you interesting and developmental work. The Infectious Disease Clinic is an exciting ward that uniquely allows you to develop very broad competence, as we treat all patient categories (internal medicine, surgery, orthopedics, and sometimes pediatric patients). We offer continuous education in infectious disease care regarding various infectious diseases. Additionally, we have a specialist nurse available most weekdays to support you in your daily work.
Working hours are scheduled for evening/night shifts, and you will work 2 out of 5 weekends or every other weekend according to your preference.
We provide individualized orientation and mentorship, which means the orientation is tailored to you as a person and after the orientation period you will be assigned a mentor if you wish.
