About the position We are now seeking a new colleague for a permanent position with us. This open position focuses on the surgical patient flow, and we see a great advantage if you have experience and further training as a contact nurse and/or specialist nurse within surgery. Endocrine Tumors and Sarcoma is a patient flow within Cancer Theme. We investigate, operate on and treat benign and malignant tumors in the parathyroid gland, thyroid gland and adrenal glands, neuroendocrine tumors in the abdomen (NET), and sarcoma in the abdomen. We are the sole provider in the Stockholm region for surgery for our diagnoses. For abdominal sarcoma surgery, we are one of three national centers in Sweden, and for neuroendocrine abdominal tumors, we have a nationally highly specialized healthcare mission. We work with both the surgical and oncological patient flow and place the patient's journey in focus. In the team, nurses, assistant nurses and physicians from various specialties work together. We gladly share our knowledge and care for both patients and one another. As a contact nurse at the clinic, you have a central role; your daily work is varied and diverse. Your tasks include developing My Care Plan, following standardized care pathways, and providing support and guidance to patients and their families. The work involves contact and collaboration with other healthcare providers both within and outside Karolinska, as many of our patients come from other parts of the country. Working hours are scheduled during daytime, Monday through Friday. Qualifications Requirements: - Licensed nurse with Swedish licensing - At least 2 years of experience as a nurse Meritorious: - Previous work within cancer care - Training as a contact nurse or specialist education within surgery - Experience from clinic work - Good knowledge of the Take Care patient record system About the recruitment process Selection and interviews may take place continuously during the application period.
