Registered Nurse, Temporary Position, Hand and Plastic Surgery Department in Malmö

We are looking for you to help develop the Hand and Plastic Surgery Department into a workplace where we provide the best possible care to our patients using a patient-centered approach. The hand and plastic surgery department is located in Malmö and conducts highly specialized surgery. We receive patients from southern Sweden, as well as national and international patients who need highly specialized surgical care. The department has 14 inpatient beds distributed among plastic surgery, breast cancer surgery, hand surgery, and otolaryngology patients. We also have up to eight day surgery slots on weekdays for hand surgery patients. The department cares for both elective and acute patients and has its own 24-hour emergency intake for hand patients. The hand surgery flow also includes children. The department has been part of the Magnet project, and you will continue to have the opportunity to influence patient care and our working methods in an exciting and developmental way. With us, nurses, nursing assistants, and physicians work in teams together with occupational therapists, physical therapists, social workers, and dietitians. The work groups are divided into two teams for inpatient care and one team for day surgery. The department has a clinical nurse specialist or nursing manager on duty daily who works with staff as a resource in complex care situations. There is also support from experienced nurses and nursing assistants available for specialized guidance. The department also has a coordinator who manages the daily flow. 1 position(s). WORK TASKS You will work day, evening, and weekend shifts with common tasks as well as highly specialized preoperative preparations and postoperative care. On the department, we handle medical equipment and work with laser Doppler monitoring and perform igel treatments. We work in teams and our approach is characterized by focusing on holistic care and patient-centered work. Care documentation is done in the Melior data system. We have a high patient flow and offer various specialties, which provides you with opportunities for further development and new knowledge, but it also requires you to be solution-oriented and flexible. Beyond direct patient work, all staff members on the department participate in building, developing, and improving care at the unit. We offer an individualized introduction to ensure you as a nurse feel confident in your professional practice. You have the opportunity to complete digital training during work hours, and regular lectures are held. For newly graduated nurses, there is also a clinical foundation year under Region Skåne's auspices. You are committed to your profession as a nurse and want to actively participate in the department's approach and development moving forward. You share your experience and knowledge whether you are new to your role as a nurse or have extensive experience. On the Hand and Plastic Surgery Department, everyone is important. This position is for a study leave replacement with a duration of approximately 1 year. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are a registered nurse with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. Swedish language proficiency at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale is required. It is meritorious to have experience from surgical operations and if you have knowledge of wound dressing. You take responsibility and have the ability to make independent decisions, but at the same time value working in a team. In your interactions with both patients and colleagues, we expect you to be attentive and have a humble approach.
