Our operations focus on highly specialized surgery within colorectal and upper gastrointestinal diseases. Here we care for both planned and acute patients with oncological conditions as well as acute surgical emergencies - giving you an exciting and varied day where your expertise makes a difference every day.
Currently we have 18 care beds, but we have ambitions to grow and develop further. Our newly renovated, modern department is equipped with single rooms that create a safe and comfortable environment for our patients. DUTIES
As a registered nurse with us, you'll have a workday that is both varied and developing. Here you'll work with medical-technical procedures, central lines, pain management (PCEA and PCA), nutritional support tubes, and wound care with negative pressure therapy. An important part of care involves patient mobilization, where you receive good support from our physiotherapists. Here you develop broad surgical competence and a good foundation to grow in your professional role.
Regardless of whether you're new to the profession or an experienced nurse, we offer you an individually tailored introduction with support from experienced and supportive colleagues. If you're newly qualified, you'll have the chance to strengthen your role through Region Skåne's introduction program, which combines clinical skills training with theoretical lectures. If you want to take further steps in your career, there's an opportunity for paid specialist training in surgery (60 higher education credits) that you can pursue part-time over two years - while continuing to work with us. We encourage you to actively explore and build on your competence. For example, you can become a nurse responsible for care and participate in care rounds, thus contributing to the development of care and our patients' well-being.
Team spirit is our strength. We work in multidisciplinary teams consisting of nurses, nursing assistants, physicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and a pharmacy technician who support with medication management. Beyond that, we have strong support from, among others, a stoma care nurse, dietitian, community coordinator nursing assistant, bed coordinator, and service staff. We also work closely with the pain management team to ensure our patients receive individually tailored pain relief. Our workplace is characterized by collaboration, care, and security - for both our patients and for you as a colleague. The position involves shift work: day, evening, and night. The number of night shifts affects weekly working hours. Weekend work is included - two out of five weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS
We're looking for a licensed registered nurse with authorization to practice in Swedish healthcare. Swedish language proficiency at minimum level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale is required. Experience in surgical care or specialist training in the field is meritorious.
To thrive in the role, you are a flexible and confident person who appreciates variations in work pace. You have good ability to adapt and prioritize your work and show care for both patients and their relatives and your colleagues. Within our operations area, we leverage our collective competence and share it with one another. We believe it's important that you want to be part of this as well. Helsingborg Hospital is a versatile workplace with energy. Here we provide acute and specialist healthcare around the clock. Most medical specialties are represented, and we have intensive care, maternity, and neonatal care. We also have operations at hospitals in Ängelholm and Landskrona.
