The Psychiatric Clinic at Norrland University Hospital in Umeå is Norrland's largest psychiatric clinic with over 400 employees. We have three general psychiatric wards, forensic psychiatric services, and several specialized outpatient and treatment units. The Psychiatric Clinic is committed to equitable care for all and nursing care based on research and clinical experience. The Psychiatric Clinic operates in a newly built facility where the care environment is shaped by the importance of the therapeutic environment for promoting health. The care and work environment is supported by modern technology and research, which is evident in the lighting and communication systems. The clinic is climate-smart through self-sufficiency in electricity and heating, among other things. We are now seeking a nurse for Ward 4. Ward 4 is an inpatient ward with 13 beds and approximately 30 employees. Our focus and target group is individuals with dual diagnosis—mental health issues combined with addiction/substance abuse. In addition to the ward, we have an attached detoxification unit with 6 beds. We also work with acute and planned detoxification treatments. Our work is carried out in close collaboration with other departments in the clinic. Important aspects of our daily work include collaboration and planning with outpatient clinics, municipal services, police, treatment homes, and primary care. We work according to a modified 3-3 shift model, which means you have a reduced weekly working time while maintaining full-time salary. As a new employee in the region, you can join such a shift model after 3 months. Your role will be important as part of our care team and operations to achieve the goal of providing the best possible treatment and care for our patients. Within the Psychiatric Clinic, you have great opportunities to pursue further education and specialize in psychiatry. 1 position(s). DUTIES As a nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that makes people feel secure. We work in care teams where you participate in planning care together with the patient, the responsible physician, and other team members. Care planning includes contact with family members, municipal services, and outpatient care. The ward has varied tasks and new challenges every day. You work in your care team with medication distribution, care plans, and lead the daily psychiatric nursing work. As a nurse, we offer you varied tasks with room for your own initiatives and the opportunity to influence care content. To help you succeed in the role, you will be offered introduction and supervision. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for a licensed nurse with an interest in psychiatric nursing care who wants to help develop round-the-clock care. Experience in psychiatry is a merit. You should have good collaboration skills and the ability to make independent decisions. We also expect you to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, at a minimum level of C1.
