About the Operation At the Pediatric Urology Clinic, we meet children and adolescents aged 0–18 years with diseases and conditions affecting the urinary tract and kidneys. Many patients follow us over a long period, sometimes from early childhood through the transition to adult healthcare. Safety and continuity for the children and their families are therefore an important part of our work. The Urology Clinic is part of the Pediatric Specialist Clinics, which also include the Pediatric Rheumatology and Immunology Clinic and the Pediatric Metabolic, Infectious Disease, and Hemangioma Clinic. Together we work on assessment, treatment, and follow-up of children and adolescents with specialized care needs. The Pediatric Urology Clinic is also part of Sahlgrenska University Hospital's mission within nationally highly specialized care for rare kidney diseases. We assess, treat, and follow children with complex and unusual kidney diseases in close collaboration with other professionals and healthcare providers. We work in teams with pediatric nurses, nurses, nursing assistants, and pediatricians and collaborate closely with social workers and psychologists. Duties As a nurse at the Pediatric Urology Clinic, you work both independently and together with physicians and other professional groups. Duties include among other things: independent nursing consultations clinic visits together with physicians advice and information to children and guardians sample collection, examinations, and treatments planning, scheduling, and follow-up of patient visits documentation and follow-up work related to visits. You will also be involved in the clinic's mission within nationally highly specialized care. The work involves planning, coordination, and follow-up of care for children with complex care needs as well as support and information to children and families. You will have contact with patients and families at scheduled appointments, through telephone advice, and via digital contact channels. The work also includes coordination with other operations and healthcare providers. Research and development work is conducted at the clinic, and you will have the opportunity to contribute to improvements in the content and methods of care. About You We are looking for someone who is a licensed nurse. It is an advantage if you are a specialist-trained pediatric nurse or have experience in pediatric healthcare, clinic work, or working with children and adolescents with urinary tract or kidney-related diseases. You enjoy working with children and families and find it easy to create a sense of security and trust. You are attentive and adapt your communication to the child's age, needs, and circumstances. The work requires that you can plan and structure your workday, take your own initiative, and work independently. At the same time, you need to be comfortable collaborating with colleagues, patients, family members, and other organizations. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
