We are now seeking registered nurses with experience who want to work in day surgery, in an operation where patient safety, responsibility, and professional collaboration are central.
The Recovery Unit (UVA) receives all post-operative outpatient patients at Sunderby Hospital. The work is characterized by clear workflows, high pace at times, and close collaboration between multiple professions.
We are now seeking colleagues who, with confidence and experience, want to contribute to continued stability and quality in daily operations.
The operation contributes to our 24-hour activities through a position that includes at least two evening/weekend shifts per month.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking you as a registered nurse with good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. You have experience with the journal systems Cosmic and Provisio. It is advantageous if you have experience working in postoperative, anesthesia, or day surgery operations, as well as having several years of experience in the profession and feeling confident in your professional role.
We place great emphasis on personal qualities. As a person, you are stable and maintain calm and focus in pressured situations. You are organized with the ability to plan and prioritize work effectively and meet deadlines. Furthermore, you are self-driven and take responsibility for moving processes forward with initiative and own ideas that lead to results.
What You'll Be Working With
At UVA, we are responsible for patients undergoing planned surgeries or procedures where the patient can go home the same day. As a nurse, you work with the entire patient process around the day surgery procedure. The work involves handling both calm and more intensive periods during the day, where the ability to prioritize, make clinical decisions, and work structurally is important. Patients are often awake and the throughput is relatively high, which requires a professional and safe approach.
At UVA, we have:
10 monitoring beds
A separate pediatric UVA with 5 monitoring beds and its own pediatric patient flow
Rotation to our postoperative unit occurs by agreement and in accordance with Region Norrbotten guidelines. This provides opportunity for variation and broader clinical competence. Training therefore also includes our postoperative unit. Work at PostOP is varied and educational—here you meet patients of all ages with a wide variety of surgical procedures. At PostOP, we care for patients who have undergone major surgery with more demanding and longer postoperative courses.
With us, you get the opportunity to work in a specialized operation where your experience is valuable—both for patients and for the continued development of the unit.
