We offer highly specialized cardiac care and have overall responsibility for the region's patients. The Heart Center includes the Cardiac and Vascular Clinic, Thoracic Surgery, Cardiology, Cardiac Intervention, Arrhythmia Unit, and Clinical Physiology and Center for Cardiovascular Genetics. We investigate, treat, and operate on patients from throughout the northern region with diseases of the heart, lungs, and coronary arteries. Through cross-boundary collaboration, efficient care pathways, continuous improvement, and competent staff, we can provide very high-quality care. We have approximately 400 employees at the Heart Center. On our Thorax Care Unit, 50 employees work in the roles of nurses, care service personnel, and nursing assistants around patients. We provide specialized care for patients undergoing surgery for heart, vascular, and lung diseases. Patients are cared for here both before and after surgery, and we have 18 care beds. Thorax has regional responsibility, which means patients come from all the northernmost counties and we operate on over 1000 patients/year. We are now seeking two nurses for our team for a temporary position from 2026-09-01 through 2027-08-31. Start date can be arranged at another time by agreement. WORK TASKS As a nurse with us, you contribute to taking good care of others and helping people feel better. The work consists of patient care, documentation, medication administration, and monitoring of vital parameters, etc. Together with other care personnel, you work in a patient-safe manner and the work is performed both independently and in collaboration with colleagues. The work also includes contributing to development activities and supervising students. It is rewarding, varied, and challenging work where you have the opportunity to learn new things every day in a family-like work group. We always help each other and we have good collaboration with other professional groups. The focus is always on the patient. At the Thorax Care Unit, we care about personal development and therefore offer training in the form of theme days, internal education, and after a period of work, the opportunity to rotate toward an intermediate unit as well as the opportunity to apply for an intensive care nurse aspirant program. QUALIFICATIONS We are now seeking someone who is a licensed nurse. We value prior knowledge in cardiac care or surgical care, but it is not a requirement. What we are looking for in you is excellent teamwork skills. We expect you to be independent while also being organized and able to prioritize your work tasks. It is important that you have good communication skills with patients and colleagues. You contribute your expertise to help us find good solutions on our unit. Employment type: Fixed-term contract.
