Registered Nurse at Stroke Clinic with Rotation to Stroke Ward

In the stroke ward, we care for patients with acute stroke/TIA and subsequent acute rehabilitation. We also care for patients who have been operated on/or undergone thrombectomy for stroke or tumor by a neurosurgeon. The ward has a smaller stroke clinic for follow-up visits and an external stroke team that continues rehabilitation and supports patients in their home environment. We are now seeking a registered nurse for a rotating position between the stroke clinic and stroke ward. The role involves working 60 percent at the clinic and 40 percent on the stroke ward. These percentages may vary. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a registered nurse with us, you will have varying responsibilities depending on where you work. As a registered nurse at the stroke clinic, you will among other things work with • telephone advice via Tele Q • maintaining contact with patient associations such as stroke association and aphasia association • booking patients for clinic visits via Cosmic • conducting clinic appointments • national guidelines regarding stroke/TIA • registering in registers (Riks-Stroke) • booking blood tests for health consultations • monitoring lab results and other examinations performed on an outpatient basis. As a registered nurse on the stroke ward, you will among other things work with • following the care pathway and actively participating in meetings regarding patients • managing PEG/feeding tubes and tracheostomies • monitoring neurological status using NIHSS and NEWS • participating in rehabilitation processes • participating in rounds together with physicians • planning patient discharges together with the ward's care planner.
