Your workplace
The mission of Forensic Psychiatry is to investigate, treat, and rehabilitate residents of Värmland who have committed a crime under the influence of a serious mental disorder and have been placed in forensic psychiatric care. Care is provided in both closed and open care settings. The aim is to rehabilitate patients back into society.
Our operations are located in Kristinehamn and Karlstad. It consists of four care units with a total of 42 inpatient beds, as well as three training apartments in nearby buildings in Kristinehamn.
Care Unit 80 is a forensic psychiatric inpatient unit with security class two. Here we care for patients who are placed in care according to the Forensic Psychiatry Care Act (LRV), as well as patients in need of care from the Prison Service.
Care Unit 81 is a forensic psychiatric inpatient unit with security class three. The unit primarily focuses on rehabilitation and discharge of patients.
Care Unit 82 is a forensic psychiatric inpatient unit with security class three. The unit primarily focuses on rehabilitation and discharge of patients with significant care needs.
Care Unit 84 is a forensic psychiatric inpatient unit located at the psychiatric hospital in Karlstad
Your responsibilities
As a registered nurse, you have an important role in the team around each individual patient. The role alternates between observation and assessment to treatment-oriented work tasks. You are expected to lead and distribute daily nursing care work, identify and articulate the patient's needs in psychiatric nursing.
Your knowledge and competencies
We are looking for you as a licensed registered nurse with good collaboration skills. You are professional in your approach and want to make a difference for our patients. We value your ability to make correct assessments and prioritizations. Attention to detail and strong awareness of goals and quality standards are important qualities. We are committed to finding the right person for the position and will therefore place great emphasis on personal suitability. You handle Swedish well in both speech and writing. It is a merit if you are trained as a psychiatric nurse and/or have previous experience working in psychiatry/forensic psychiatry, as well as good documentation habits.
