The Eye Clinic in Gävle is part of the eye care operational area and provides acute and planned ophthalmologic care with outpatient and surgical services as well as vision rehabilitation. We are approximately 50 employees working together in modern facilities on the hospital grounds in Gävle. Here, physicians, ophthalmic nurses, registered nurses, nursing assistants, opticians, orthoptists, and medical secretaries collaborate to provide patients with the best possible care. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a registered nurse with us, you will have a stimulating and varied role within outpatient services, acute patient flow, and surgical operations. The work is dynamic and takes place in close collaboration with several professions on the team. As a registered nurse, you will, among other things • perform preparatory examinations before outpatient visits with physicians • work in the acute patient flow at the outpatient clinic • prepare patients for our injection services • perform vision testing, intraocular pressure measurements, visual field examinations, biometry, and OCT • prepare patients for and care for them after surgery • provide counseling and participate in digital services via Min vård Gävleborg and 1177 • conduct independent clinics for various patient groups. As a registered nurse with us, you will grow in your role and after some time have the opportunity to expand your responsibilities to include • conducting independent clinics for various patient groups • telephone counseling • assisting the ophthalmic nurse during angiography. If you are a specialist-trained ophthalmic nurse, in addition to the above duties, you will also • assess and plan care based on patient needs • work in the operating room and assist physicians during procedures • perform injections, fundus photography, and angiography. It is meritorious if you are already specialist-trained as an ophthalmic nurse or have experience in ophthalmologic care or outpatient services. Employment type: Permanent position.
