About the position The IBD Gastroenterology and Bowel Clinic is a specialist clinic and day care unit that investigates, treats, and follows up patients with inflammatory bowel diseases and other gastrointestinal diseases. With us, you will meet patients throughout the entire care pathway – from investigation before treatment to follow-up after inpatient care. At our day care unit, medical treatments are also provided, including infusions and injections. The operation conducts nationally highly specialized care (NHV) within reconstructive surgery, which means we receive patients with complex care needs from across the country. With us, you will also have the opportunity to participate in our ERAS work and contribute to the development of modern, evidence-based care processes. We are now in an exciting development phase where we are building up the surgical outpatient operations connected to our national assignment. In this work, the nurse has a central role throughout the entire care process. The work includes preoperative optimization before surgery, postoperative follow-up with focus on recovery, self-care and early detection of complications, as well as close collaboration with surgeons, dietitians, and other professionals to create continuity and safe, cohesive care. The role includes, among other things, to: - work both in the outpatient clinic and day care - meet patients in complex surgical care pathways - plan, carry out, and follow up treatments - assist with examinations such as rectoscopy, proctoscopy, and sigmoidoscopy - work with stoma care and patient education - participate in the development of surgical care processes - work in close collaboration with physicians and other professionals The position contributes to our 24/7 operation by working two evening/night shifts per month. We are looking for you who - are confident in your professional role and work independently with the ability to make well-founded decisions based on patient needs - are flexible and easily adapt to changed conditions in an operation under development - have a structured work approach and can plan, prioritize, and organize your work efficiently - have a good overall perspective and see the value of close collaboration with other professionals to create cohesive and patient-safe care - contribute with a positive attitude and want to participate in the operation's development and continuous improvement work We place great emphasis on personal suitability for the role. Qualifications Requirements: - Swedish nursing license - At least 3 years of experience as a nurse Merits: - Experience in gastrointestinal surgery - Experience of working according to ERAS - Knowledge in stoma care - Surgical competence - Experience working as a contact nurse - Specialist nurse in surgery - Level 3 nurse About the recruitment process Selection and interviews may be conducted on an ongoing basis during the application period.
