At our neonatal unit, you work with the care and nursing of infants in a unique and stimulating work environment. The neonatal area at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) consists of two departments; one neonatal unit in Malmö and one in Lund. In Malmö, we care for infants born from week 28 of pregnancy and onward. These can be newborn sick infants or premature infants with varying care needs, from light care to intensive care. The department has 18 care beds where we provide everything from intermediate care with CPAP treatment to general observation and nursing with a focus on growth and breastfeeding. We also have elements of intensive care. The length of stay in the department varies from a couple of hours to weeks and sometimes months. We practice family-centered care with the goal of providing good care to all families and, as much as possible, avoid separation of children and parents. - The best thing about working in neonatal is the mix of tasks. WORK TASKS At our facility, nurses and pediatric nurses work together with patient-centered care and family at the center. For the best interest of the child, we have interdisciplinary collaboration with doctors, childcare assistant, social worker, medical secretary, physiotherapist, psychologist, and dietitian. In your role, you alternate between intermediate care and family care. This way you get varied, stimulating, and educational work. Neonatal care at Sus is the first in the country to train all staff in FINE I-II, which provides in-depth knowledge and learning about the child's behavior and wellbeing and provides tools to support the child's parents in the best way. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare; it is highly advantageous if you are specialist trained as a pediatric nurse. Alternatively, you are a licensed midwife with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. Swedish language skills corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale are also a requirement. For us, it is valuable if you have previous work experience in neonatal care.
