The Surgery Clinic is one of the largest operations at Centralsjukhuset Kristianstad and consists of outpatient care with vascular, upper/lower gastro, and breast/plastic surgery patients. We also have an oncology treatment unit, Acute Surgery Department, Surgery Department, Gynecological Surgery, Ear-Nose-Throat, Urology and Vascular Department, as well as Acute Orthopedic Department. Our Surgery Department specializes in patients undergoing surgical treatment for colorectal conditions, among others. On the department, we care for 13 patients in two teams. We care for patients with acute surgical conditions, and several of our patients have oncological diagnoses. We provide both pre- and postoperative care. Development within the specialty is progressing; surgical techniques and medical treatments are becoming increasingly complex and at the same time more accessible to a larger number of patients. We have close collaboration with the Gynecological Surgery, Ear-Nose-Throat department located on the same floor. With us work knowledgeable and committed employees, and our goal is to always keep the patient in focus. We are a large team with different professional categories working closely together around the patient. Our department pharmacist relieves the nurses by ordering medications, ensures that all medications are in our inventory, and restocks medication carts for each team. The pharmacist also helps prepare IV solutions, antibiotics, and tablet dispensing. During daytime on weekdays, we have coordinators who, among other things, coordinate all incoming calls, and an SVU coordinator who plans and assesses the patient's needs before discharge. 2 position(s). WORK TASKS At our Surgery Department, you will have an exciting and developmental job in a pleasant work environment where everyone helps each other. You will be surrounded by friendly and competent colleagues in close teamwork. The team consists of a nurse and a nursing assistant who care for 6 to 7 patients during their shift. As a nurse, you will work with, among other things, preoperative preparations and postoperative care of patients who have undergone colorectal surgery. Some of our patients receive epidural catheters in connection with surgery, which means you will work with advanced pain management. We work according to ERAS, which is an evidence-based care program, aimed at patients having faster recovery, reduced complications, and shorter hospital stays. Our work group focuses on development and improvement at our unit. We have well-developed routines and care about our patients. We value your development and ensure that there is time for both education and reflection. You have the opportunity to schedule training in your schedule, and the department has a clinical nurse educator and a clinical nursing assistant educator who help and inspire in continuous learning. QUALIFICATIONS You who are applying are a licensed nurse with authorization to work in Swedish healthcare and have Swedish language skills equivalent to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale.
