Our Operations
The Surgical Department is an elective care unit specializing in orthopedics, general surgery, and urology. Approximately 40 people work here. We have twelve care beds on the ward with fast-track procedures (patients are operated on one day and usually go home the next day). We work 40 hours per week. We value a good psychosocial work environment where there should be an open climate and we regularly work on improvements in this area. We use the Cosmic medical records system. Staff members on the surgical department work approximately 4 weekends over a thirteen-week period.
Teamwork is central to the department, which enables a holistic view of the patient, individually tailored measures, and promotes patient safety. The team consists of registered nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, ward physicians, and surgeons in the various specialties.
Your Assignment
Standard duties of a registered nurse in a surgical inpatient care unit, both pre- and post-operatively. Teamwork with nursing assistants and physiotherapists. The goal is for you as a registered nurse to be able to influence your own journey, your colleagues' journeys, and patients' journeys through the hospital to make them as safe, motivating, and stimulating as possible.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for a licensed registered nurse with several years of experience in the profession, but we also welcome newly graduated nurses. You appreciate varied work where you want to be involved in influencing and developing the operations. You are also a dedicated and positive colleague who contributes to a good work environment and who wants to work in a team where the patient is involved in their own care and mobilization.

We offer a permanent employment contract at 100 percent. Rotating shift work (i.e., day, evening, and weekend shifts).

In addition to your workplace-specific orientation, you will also participate in our comprehensive introduction week for new employees, KULE - Clinical Training Lasarettet i Enköping, where we offer an interprofessional approach. Here you will meet and collaborate with colleagues from several different professions. For newly graduated registered nurses, we also offer enhanced introduction for an additional three months. This includes reflective professional supervision as well as shadowing and coaching from our clinical educator. You will also participate in practical training at our KTC (Clinical Training Center), a safe and supportive environment to practice and develop your skills.
