About Us
The Department of Surgery conducts extensive surgical operations in several specialty areas (divided into pediatric and endocrine surgery, upper abdominal surgery, colorectal surgery, breast and melanoma surgery), urology, vascular, plastic, and oncology. In Karlskrona, we operate two inpatient wards and outpatient clinics across four different locations, including one in Karlshamn. We also provide oncology day care services and will be opening a new endoscopy unit in fall 2026. We also operate services in radiology and the emergency department in Karlskrona, as well as in the operating rooms in Karlskrona and Karlshamn. Together, we have just over 240 employees.
About the Job
We offer varied and developmental work within vascular surgery where you will combine outpatient clinic work, direct patient care, and participation in endovascular interventions. You will work in a highly specialized team with broad expertise and strong commitment, where together we create a work environment characterized by collaboration, development, and community.
As a nurse in our vascular section, you will have varied and developmental work where you are responsible for care and treatment of patients with vascular diseases. You will work with outpatient visits, telephone consultations, wound care, patient follow-up, and coordination before and after various examinations and treatments. Part of your role is also to assist with endovascular interventions. The unit encompasses planned, acute, and subacute care, which means that the workday can be varied and sometimes have a high pace. You work in close collaboration with doctors and other professionals to provide patients with safe and secure care.
About You
We are looking for someone who is a licensed nurse or radiographer nurse and who is confident in your professional role. You enjoy working close to patients and at the same time have an interest in an activity where advanced medical technology is a natural part of daily work.
You have a patient-focused approach, collaborate well with others, and contribute to a good work environment. At the same time, you are self-driven, flexible, and have the ability to prioritize when the work pace varies. We also value that you have an interest in developing both yourself and the activities.
It is meritorious if you have experience in outpatient work, surgical activities, or operating room work. If you also have experience with endovascular interventions, we see that as an added asset.

Other Information
Region Blekinge requires all permanent employees to be on standby for war deployment. Some of our positions are classified for security purposes, in which case the employee must undergo a security vetting interview and background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585).
