The Vascular Ward is part of the Thorax and Vascular operations area at Skåne University Hospital. Together with Vascular Surgery and the Vascular Clinic, we form the vascular area where we provide both vascular surgical and vascular medical care for patients with complex vascular diseases. We are responsible for vascular care in southwestern and central Skåne as well as specialized vascular care throughout the Southern Healthcare Region. Despite our specialist mission, we are an operation with close collaboration, short decision-making paths, and great trust between colleagues. We care for patients with, among other things: carotid stenosis, aortic aneurysm, claudication and critical ischemia, pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis, and malignant hypertension. Treatment can be surgical, endovascular, or conservative, which provides a varied and stimulating work day. Within the operational area, a nursing professor works to develop and support evidence-based practices and leads the work of implementing Skåne Region's competency and service model, which provides a clear structure for your learning and career opportunities within our operation. 1 position(s). DUTIES As a nurse with us, you work in close collaboration with nursing assistants, physicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and medical secretaries. You are responsible for the care of patients with both surgical and medical care needs and work with both acute and planned care. The work includes common nursing tasks as well as planning, coordination, and follow-up of patient care. We are a development-focused operation that continuously works on improvements. As a new employee, you will receive an individually tailored introduction program that includes mentoring, theory, and clinical placements within the vascular field. Through continuous internal training, for example in wound care and patient transfer techniques, as well as external university education, we build a knowledge-stable unit. At Malmö University, the course Nursing in Vascular Diseases and Vascular Surgical/Endovascular Treatment is offered for 7.5 credits and the goal is for you to complete it within a couple of years at the Vascular Ward. The position includes day, evening, and night shifts. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Swedish language proficiency corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale is required.
