Being able to be part of a good heart team has always been our wish, say nurses Hannah and Madeleine, who work together at the Kristianstad heart ward. The heart ward is a care unit with 21 beds that diagnoses and treats patients with cardiac diseases. The unit also treats patients with general medical conditions. We have a day care facility attached to the ward where we care for patients who previously required inpatient care. Patients are cared for during the day and can in most cases go home the same day. The care ward also has close collaboration with the cardiac intensive care unit (HIA). Our workplace is characterized by high competence, good atmosphere, and pleasant colleagues. The team around patients consists of doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, medical secretaries, social workers, and dietitians. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We look forward to welcoming a new nurse to our wonderful team. The position also includes the opportunity to rotate to the Heart Clinic day care in Kristianstad. In your role as a nurse with us, you will be offered varied work where you will be an important person in both basic and specialized patient care. Your tasks with us include, among other things, perioperative care for patients undergoing or who have undergone coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). You also prepare patients for pacemaker surgery and angiography, and assist with electrical cardioversions. On the ward, we view development as a natural part of the work, partly by offering annual training days and by refining and developing collaborative forms between professions in our work groups. Here you will learn, among other things, arrhythmia interpretation as many of our patients have cardiac monitoring. We have an education nurse on the ward who regularly conducts training and arranges other competence development initiatives to ensure continuous development and high competence in the work group. Over the past year, our nurses have had the opportunity to conduct simulation exercises on essential parts of the care process and attend lectures on cardiac care from our cardiologists, which has been highly appreciated. We also have daily reflection together with other colleagues in the work team after each shift. In day care, we provide treatments that do not require inpatient care. Patients come here for, among other things, intravenous treatments, electrical cardioversion, and preparation for pacemaker implantation performed in surgery. Regardless of whether you are newly qualified or have previous experience in the profession, we value that you have a secure start in your new position with us. When you start here, our education nurse will develop an introduction plan together with you based on your previous experience and needs, and will follow you during your first time on the ward. QUALIFICATIONS You are a licensed nurse with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. Swedish language skills at a minimum of level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale are a requirement. We consider it meritorious if you have previously worked in cardiology. We are looking for someone who works proactively and in a structured manner while being able to prioritize when acute situations arise.
