The cardiac unit is a care ward with 21 beds that diagnoses and treats patients with cardiac diseases. The unit also treats patients with general medical conditions. We have a day care facility attached to the ward where we care for patients who previously required inpatient care. Patients receive care during the day and can, in most cases, go home the same day. The care ward also has close collaboration with the cardiac intensive care unit (HIA).

The team around patients consists of doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, medical secretaries, social workers, and dietitians. WORK DUTIES
We now look forward to welcoming a new nurse to our wonderful team. The position also includes the opportunity to rotate at the Cardiac Clinic day care in Kristianstad.
In your role as a nurse with us, you are offered varied work where you will be an important person in both basic and specialized patient care. Your work duties with us include, among other things, perioperative care of patients undergoing or who have undergone coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG). You also prepare patients for pacemaker surgery and angiography, and assist with electrical cardioversion procedures.
On the ward, we view development as a natural part of the work, including offering annual training days and refining and developing collaborative practices between professions in work groups. Here you will learn, among other things, arrhythmia interpretation as many of our patients have heart monitoring. We have an education nurse on the ward who regularly conducts trainings and arranges other competence development initiatives to ensure continuous development and high expertise in the work group. In the past year, our nurses have had the opportunity to conduct simulation exercises on essential parts of the care process and attend lectures on cardiac care from our cardiologists, which has been highly appreciated. We also have daily reflections together with colleagues in the work team after each shift.
At the day care facility, we provide treatments that do not require inpatient care. Patients come here for, among other things, intravenous treatments, electrical cardioversion, and preparation for pacemaker insertion that takes place in surgery.
Whether you are newly graduated or have previous experience in the profession, we believe it is important for you to have a secure start in your new position with us. When you start here, our education nurse will develop an introduction plan together with you based on your previous experience and needs, and will follow you during your initial time at the ward.
QUALIFICATIONS
You are a registered nurse with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. Swedish language skills at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale is a requirement. We consider it meritorious if you have previous experience working in cardiology.
We are looking for someone who works proactively and in a structured manner while being able to prioritize when an acute situation arises. For us, it is obvious that you are thorough and flexible in your nursing role and care for patients according to their different needs with good conduct. As a person, you are engaged, resourceful, and open to new challenges and opportunities. We also want you, just as we do, to value work characterized by personal responsibility, participation, and good collaboration between colleagues and your immediate manager.
