About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is expanding – we are building new facilities, renovating, and extending, and we are now seeking additional staff members. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, remand facilities, and inmate transportation. Job Description The Swedish Prison and Probation Service operates open healthcare services, which means that all prisons and remand facilities have health clinics where inmates can seek care. At these clinics, in addition to nurses, there is access to general practitioners, psychiatrists, and psychologists. As a nurse, you will work together with your colleagues to operate a clinic for assessing minor ailments, and you will also assess which inmates need further examination by a doctor. This means that you work with both physical and psychiatric healthcare for inmates, assist at doctor's clinics, and administer medications, primarily through dose dispensing. Beyond this, you collaborate extensively with other staff members and nurses from other regional facilities. Temporary assignments at other facilities may occur. Collaboration with other prison staff is an important part of the role, which includes educating and advising client-facing personnel on healthcare matters such as suicide prevention, emergency care, and medication administration. Documentation is done in PMO patient records. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is confident, stable, and has self-awareness. You work well with others and have well-founded and clear values. In stressful situations, you are calm, stable, and composed. You have great integrity and the ability to make sound assessments and prioritizations. You are quality-conscious and thorough, and have the ability to structure your approach independently and drive your processes forward.
