Our Offering The Psychiatric Clinic in Linköping is a university clinic with many different operations. The clinic consists of outpatient and inpatient care, a detoxification unit, and an acute unit. In addition, we have mobile services: mobile outpatient team and prehospital acute psychiatric mobility (psychiatric ambulance). You will find our operations in the newly built Tinnerbäckshuset on the hospital grounds. Department S91 is a general psychiatric department with addiction medicine as its main focus. It primarily treats individuals who need treatment for alcohol withdrawal. The work includes both assessment of withdrawal symptoms and long-term planning to support sustained sobriety and drug freedom. At the Detoxification Unit (TNE), patients who require medically supervised detoxification are cared for. The unit operates as outpatient care where patients come both by appointment and acutely. Comorbid somatic conditions are common, which means that medical-technical procedures are part of daily work. We assess and treat acute withdrawal, where assessment of vital parameters and clinical evaluation are fundamental to medical treatment. Addiction is a chronic disease characterized by periods of remission and relapse, and can be treated both acutely during the withdrawal phase and long-term to prevent relapse. Treatments are often a combination of psychosocial support and medication, which requires close collaboration with, among others, addiction clinics and municipalities. Job Description As a nurse, you have a central and supervisory role on the department and TNE, where you are responsible for daily tasks and leading nursing care work. In addition to main tasks such as medication distribution, participation in rounds, reporting, and social planning, a large part of the work focuses on supporting and working closely with patients in their individual care needs. Your work is multifaceted and enables a high degree of personal creativity, as we always strive to adapt care to each patient's specific circumstances, resources, and skills. You work together with the patient to identify their strengths and support them in managing the challenges that come with addiction. This means you often need to find individual solutions to meet the patient's needs in the best way. The supervisory role also means you are responsible for coordinating and collaborating with other professional groups within the care team to ensure the patient receives holistic and continuous care. This collaboration takes place not only within the department but also in relation to external actors. In summary, the work is both challenging and rewarding, where your ability to lead and adapt care interventions to each patient's unique needs is central. Development - Our nurses want to develop, and the clinic has therefore invested in strengthened nursing expertise. In recent years, we have allowed our nurses to take responsibility and drive the development of nursing care and work to make the latest research understandable and applicable in our clinical practice. For some time, we have been working from a recovery-oriented approach, and we see how care has moved from a more traditional approach to being driven by increasingly flexible and patient-centered care where the patient's experience and needs are always our starting point. This in turn makes everyday work more meaningful and developmental. All staff working in the addiction units receive training in Motivational Interviewing (MI) as a tool to use in conversations with patients. As an employee, you are offered both internal and external training. You also have the opportunity to obtain paid further education as a specialist nurse in psychiatry through your employer, with an additional salary increase after completing the training. About You We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. Experience in psychiatric care and/or specialist nurse education is considered a merit, but we also encourage you without psychiatric experience to apply. With the right curiosity and a desire to do the best for the patient, you will develop and learn together with us! As a new nurse, you are offered personally adapted introduction and mentorship by an experienced nurse for as long as needed.
