Our Employment Offer Forensic Psychiatry Care Stockholm provides forensic psychiatric care for patients from throughout Stockholm County and has approximately 550 employees distributed across two sections. The clinic has 15 care units and 2 outpatient clinics. The operations are spread across three facilities located at Helix (behind Huddinge Hospital), Karolinska University Hospital in Huddinge, and Löwenströmska Hospital in Upplands Väsby. We are now recruiting 2 nurses with assignments as Assistant Unit Managers for units M66 and M68, which are two care units in security class 3. The units work closely together and are located at Huddinge Hospital in Flemingsberg. Our units primarily admit patients who are placed in care under the Forensic Psychiatric Care Act (LRV). Many of the patients we care for have serious mental health issues. A large proportion of patients also have substance use disorders. The goal of forensic psychiatric care is to habilitate and rehabilitate patients to life in society with improved psychosocial functioning and reduced risk of reoffending. We shall contribute to safe and sustainable discharge to minimize the risk of relapse. Work on a care unit provides the opportunity to work long-term with patients together with a professional nursing assistant group and nurses. In addition to nurses and nursing assistants, a unit manager works closely with the operations. One or more attending physicians are assigned to the unit with responsibility for patients. Counselors, psychologists, and occupational therapists are also important resources in the work. All care staff actively participate in the care work performed. Job Description Nursing Care: Initiate and drive development of nursing care work on the unit Coordinate nursing care work on the unit Plan and participate in regular meetings with nurses to strengthen their supervisory role on the unit Coordinate care team work with care team lead nurses and maintain regular consultations with responsible nurses Ensure that routines for daily nursing care are applied and known by staff Work and be responsible for maintaining continuity and quality in the care process Initiate and drive systematic quality and patient safety work In collaboration with the unit manager, plan for measures based on what has been identified in investigations of deviations and patient injuries, and follow up on these Regularly follow up and actively work with the unit's quality and patient safety indicators Contribute to work with patient participation on the unit Contribute to competency and methodological development in nursing matters on the unit. Management: The Assistant Unit Manager, by virtue of their professional competence as a nurse, has a management function to direct and coordinate nursing care work on the unit. The Assistant Unit Manager assists the Unit Manager in: - Personnel planning and staffing according to current guidelines and budget - Coordination of orientation and follow-up of new staff - Follow-up of the training plan on the unit - Follow-up of supervisory work on the unit. Qualifications You must be a licensed nurse with specialist education in psychiatry with experience in psychiatric 24-hour care. Experience in forensic psychiatric 24-hour care and/or correctional care and leadership training is advantageous. You must be able to express yourself well verbally and in writing, see opportunities in change and development, have a strong ability to create relationships and collaborations, be a role model, and demonstrate good judgment in your leadership. Great weight is placed on personal suitability. The position is filled on the condition that it does not need to be used for internal redeployment, according to current regulations. For patient-facing work within Stockholm County Healthcare Area: - background checks will be conducted prior to the decision to employ according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for background checks at hiring. - employees who will have patient contact must undergo a new employee medical examination, according to current directives, which is conducted through occupational health services before employment. - in addition to Swedish professional licensing, good knowledge of the Swedish language equivalent to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required.
