The municipality's health and medical care activities (HSV) are distributed across 10 health and medical care teams, one of which focuses exclusively on short-term care.
We are now looking for you—a nurse or specialist nurse—who, together with competent and dedicated colleagues, wants to create a good experience and provide quality and safe care for patients at our short-term care unit on Sörmarksgatan.
If you're curious about what it's like to work with us, contact recruiting manager Anna to ask questions or perhaps discuss a workplace visit.
About the Operations
Sörmarksgatan's short-term care is a somatic short-term care unit that receives patients from across the municipality. This may include, for example, patients who need brief rehabilitation following a hospital stay, more specialized and medical-technical care over a slightly longer period, or palliative care at the end of life. Palliative care holds a special place in our unit and is a prioritized and important area. We have high expertise here and must continually develop to stay current with the latest in care and treatment, as well as adapt to the shift toward care closer to home.
We are eight nurses/specialist nurses, two occupational therapists, two physiotherapists, one rehabilitation assistant, and one pharmacist who work in close collaboration with our manager and the nursing care staff and their unit managers here at Sörmarksgatan. We also value good collaboration with both primary care centers and specialist clinics within the region, such as PRIS and the Community Care Team.
Job Responsibilities
You care for patients with various care needs and diagnoses, and you assess, implement, evaluate, and document medical interventions. With us, you will develop and use your medical and nursing-specific knowledge, and you will be part of developing the short-term care of the future. Working with advanced care and new medical-technical equipment gives you excellent opportunities to grow in your professional role and experience job satisfaction.
Collaboration with various external care providers and different professions within the municipality is also a central part of daily work.
You plan and structure your work together with your colleagues; no two days are alike, and thinking innovatively and reprioritizing is an exciting and varied part of the job.
Your responsibilities include mentoring and training nursing care staff in health and medical care services. Within HSV, we have a delegation team, but ultimately it is you, as the nurse, who delegates these services.
We consider job satisfaction, well-being, team spirit, and a good work environment where you can have fun together at work to be very important—something we continuously work toward. We know that nursing is meaningful, varied, fun, developmental, and rewarding work, but also that it can sometimes be challenging. For us, it is a given that we help each other and learn from one another. Within HSV, there are good opportunities to collaborate both within your own team and between teams. You have close contact with both colleagues and your manager in your daily work—for example, when you need to discuss patient matters.
When you start your employment, you will receive an individually tailored introduction that provides you with good foundations and a safe and stable start to your new role. We also offer mentor support once you have completed your introduction, as we know that having access to an experienced and knowledgeable nurse for advice and support is usually highly valued.
Qualifications
You are a licensed nurse with authorization to practice within Swedish health care, and we prefer that you have worked in your profession for some time. If you have specialist training in dementia care, geriatrics, district nursing, psychiatry, or palliative care, a specialist position may be available.
You have a good manner with people, you enjoy working with patients, and you have the desire to make a difference for our patients. We value that you feel confident in your professional role and can work independently. Other important capabilities include responsibility and commitment to your work, and being professional in your assessments and decisions.
You adapt easily to changing circumstances and new information, and you have excellent ability to oversee, organize, prioritize, and follow up on your work even in pressured situations.
In your role as a nurse, you lead others, so you need to be communicative and have the ability to explain and guide in a pedagogical manner, to educate and inform.
You see collaboration as a given, you have a collegial approach, and you are committed to creating and maintaining good relationships with everyone you meet in your role as a nurse on the short-term unit.
You can express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, and you are experienced with IT-based medical record systems.
A Class B driver's license is required.
Before a job offer is made, a certificate from the police criminal record register must be provided.
